I've been working on a simple, quick system for fitness. Something that works the cardio, while hitting as many muscle groups as possible in as little time as possible. Here is what i've developed thus far.

My girlfriend likes to drink Tea. She will have a couple mugs every night. It takes 2 minutes 20 seconds for it to reach optimal tempurature in our microwave. I figured, why not use that set time as a workout. The US army has a 2 minute pushup challenge, where by you do as many pushups as possible in 2 minutes. I'm opting to emulate this.

    May 12 2009

    8:30pm. pushups session one.
Three sets, consisting of 65, 25, and 15 reps for a total of 100

    9:00pm. pushups session two.
four sets, consisting of 34, 40, and 16 reps for a total of 100

    10:00pm. pushups session three.
three sets, consisting of 25, 15, and 10 reps for a total of 50

I intend to build upon this system over the next few weeks and months, incorperating advanced pushup techniques, squats, and pullups.

was a bit of a lazy day really. Went for a quick walk with CJ, but due to the strong possibility of rain we went home earlier than normal. good thing as a few minutes after we made it back, down it came.

Didnt do any exercise last night as yesterday i did that 3rd set of pushups. only 50 extra, but it was enough that i was feeling it, so i figured take one day, as it really wont hurt anything.

Tonight i'm going to add in one set of one legged squats. Not sure how many i'll be able to do, but i guess i'll find out.

Wasn't going to do much tonight, and was feeling lazy. ate half a medium pizza for dinner though, so i figured i should at least do some cardio.

Cardio was 20 minutes on the eliptical, resulting in "360" calories burned. how accurate is this measurement? the world many never know.

I followed this up by doing my pushups for the night.

    first round was as follows:
    50, 35, 15 for total of 100

    round two was:
    51, 34, 15 for a total of 100

    And thats a night.

Went to class again for the first time in 3/4 of a year. Wasnt much of a workout really, as we had a visitor. Japanese girl who happens to be a black belt in Judo. Allways good to see Shihan suited up. Lots of learning was had, but not quite as much exercising as i'd have liked. Going to have to make up for that tonight.

Went for a walk with CJ after dinner. 5k in 60 minutes.

    Pushups went as follows

    round 1
    60 25 10 5

    round 2
    50 30 20

Both sets are now under 2 minutes. Now i just need to work at turning them into 2 sets of 100.

Went for a walk friday and saturday night. Slack on pushups for awhile now, need to resume that soon. Saturday and Sunday mornings did 20 minutes of cardio on the eliptical. 380cal and 400cal. Saturday helped my dad remove and install some windows.

Forum ate my post. very angry.

tried to do my simple routine outlined yesterday. not ready to go the full distance, but figured one set from each catagory would be good.

    pulls
very sad night. back when i was trying to get my arms to the point where they could fill my sleves back at halloween i'd have done 35-40 in 2 minutes. heres what i managed

    5 pullup
    5 n.g. pull
    5 chinup
    1 pullup
    1 n.g. pull
    1 chinup

    legs
decided to do lunges. they seem to take longer per rep than most of my exercises.

    30 steps
    10 second rest
    20 steps
total of 50 reps, 25 per side

    pushups
    25
    25
    20
    10
85 total. not bad considering my arms were still dead from the pulls.

gonna take tonight off as i'm still sore. wednesday i'm going to try and up my output by 5-10%.
